She has her father's teeth.Here's hoping your Saturday was a little warmer than that of our lovely volunteers. An unexpected hail storm hit Max, Trish, Deanell, Darren, and Renee. Max said that was the coldest he has been all year. The funny thing is that an air traffic controller bought his pumpkins at 2:10 PM and warned them a hail storm would hit at 2:15 PM. They didn't pay much attention because the sky wasn't looking too bad. Amazingly, he was right on. They all scrambled to their trucks, but not before becoming completely drenched. Black, one of our favorite ranch horses, was at the pumpkin stand for pony rides. Max was relieved that he had already been loaded in the trailer before it all happened.
The weather was so bad they went ahead and closed the stand for the day. I went back about an hour later when the sky cleared up and it stopped raining. Surprisingly, I had a lot of customers braving the wind and cold. Exciting times, I tell ya!
The word of the day is balloon fiesta. Have you ever been to the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta? If not, you're missing out. It's just such a shame when weather causes events to be cancelled. Here's to clearer skies next year. Have yourself an awesome Sunday.

Glad to hear that you were all able to "weather" the storm. We were really very worried about the horse (the people too), but the horse could have been a catastrophe.

Wow! We didn't even get any snow or hail on this side of the mountains...just vicious wind and sideways pelting rain, that caused several of our windows to leak and some areas above our windows, too! gah!
We've only been over to ABQ twice in a month, so we've missed the Balloon Fiesta! wah.
Time is just flying by this year.
Glad you all are doing so well selling those pumpkins. We still don't have ours yet.
But by the time we'd make it over there, you'd probably be all sold out! hehe
