Thankful Thursday--Tack Room Edition

Before I start talking about the tack room, I would like to thank Joe and Bonnie for being so great! They are so much fun. We were introduced to them by my mother back in April, and they have been supportive of Galloping Grace ever since. Joe was part of the volunteer crew that picked pumpkins out in the field and then helped unload them back at the stand. They have stopped by on many occasions to say hi and cheer us on. The day this picture was taken, they came to bring us a case of water and a bag of treats for the horses. Too kind! Joe and Bonnie, thank you very much.


I would also like to thank Lynn Williams for all his hard work on the tack room.

Max and Lynn are in a men's group together. Lynn agreed to help Max finish building the tack room. Actually, it has become Lynn's project. He has put in many, many hours to make it look great!

There's Grant with that hammer again!
We are so excited at how it is turning out. I can imagine many great pictures taken in front of that building. Oh, and of course it's great that our tack is being protected. Of course that's what really matters (to Max!)

Sadly, this is the best picture I have of the finished project.

Lynn is a realtor in town. I would like to give him a plug and propound that you use him because he has done so much for us. Shucks again! I forgot to thank Keri, Cindy and kids for working shifts at the stand yesterday when I posted this last night! All this help has been so great--we are actually being able to get things done this year. Last year our life came to a halt in October. Guys, thanks again!!

A Wonderful Wednesday

There is nothing overly exciting to report. Thought I'd just share some photos of our nice day at Galloping Grace. Deanell and Brooke really gave Buck some extra TLC. You can see them here putting essential oil products all over his aching legs. My mom has heard wonderful things about these products working on animals, so she bought them for the horses. We figured it was worth a try. (Thanks Juju for thinking of us.) Claire and Garrett had a fun time playing tag in the arena. They can get going really fast. At times I have to just turn away. Is it just me, or is this man missing his box of chocolates? That picnic table is the one that Mr. Doug Henry donated. It sure is nice assembled. The horses were loving Claire.
Claire had the horse treats. That stuff can turn the most stuck up horse into the sweetest, most friendly horse in the world. We all tried it today and decided they really aren't bad. Have you ever had Crackling Oat Bran cereal? I think they taste pretty similar. I told Max it would probably be a whole lot cheaper buying the cereal over the bags of this stuff.
Warning signs up! Max has wanted to get this done for a long time. We have to have them displayed in order to get insurance for the Youth Ranch. He has been working on this temporary tack room for the last couple days. It's really coming along. The kids were very entertained by Max's hammer. This kept them busy for quite some time. I know--doesn't look all that safe, but they were happy.

I can only imagine what my mom's thinking as she looks at this next picture. He's my fourth--I cannot help it. Does anyone really watch their fourth child?
My mother only had three children. Who is she to judge my parenting of a fourth?

Plus, there's really no stopping the kid. That's it. Hope you have a happy day yourself.
