Do you remember Wanda, the sweet volunteer who traveled to the Grand Canyon this summer? We love Wanda!

Ms. Wanda asked me to share a little info with all of you in case you're interested about their upcoming charity event. (Please note this flier was much cuter before I cut and pasted it on the blog. I left Max some posters and flyers advertising the Young at Heart gospel choir annual event to be held first weekend in October. You of course are invited to the event and we would appreciate any promotion you can give us. Basically, we decorate a donated gymnasium into a western town and have booths, cake walks, food, face painting & activities for kids; on Friday nite we will have a joint concert with the BAR-D-WRANGLERS from Durango, our ministry partners.

I sure hope this translates well being that we work with children and all. . .

So we have this new volunteer who is absolutely awesome. You might recall I put her picture the other day from when she made Max a bear cake to thank him for letting her coming out to help.

She's friendly, precious--just a wonderful lady. The cheery pink flower she wears in her hair says it all. She came out with her grandchildren one day, and decided to volunteer after that. We are so happy she came into our GGYR life!

Just when we get overly attached to the lady, she has the nerve to ride off into the sunset on her bike! Without clearing it with us (for which she's apologized because she didn't know us when she made her itinerary), Ms. Wanda planned a vacation to the Grand Canyon. She intends to ride a donkey all the way down to the bottom. Wanda, Max has a message for you--
Get off your ass and get back here!! We miss you.
