Carla and Crackerjack

I would like to wish a very happy birthday to my overly organized, never procrastinating, can- cook-up-food-like-you-wouldn't-believe, sis-in-law, Carla. I won't post her age--I'm fast approaching it myself. Plus, I am always polite and kind to my subjects. I believe in treating others like I want to be treated myself.

This is Carla and Tom, her hubby and Max's big bro. Here she is painting eyeballs on Max's truck. That's a story for another post. So is this picture down yonder. I have neither the time nor the energy to do the story justice right now. Let's just say she was helping Galloping Grace, and we're thankful. Look what a work horse she is. Did you know that some people out there actually unpack their suitcases right when they get home from a trip? Unfathomable! Carla does. She also irons her sheets and lines up her cans like that crazy guy in Sleeping with the Enemy. She always threatens to come over and help me get organized. NO WAY! I have told her, and now I'm making it public, if I die anytime soon, Carla is NOT to come into my house and help get it in order. I could never rest in peace knowing this was even a possibility. Oh, the humiliation!

This picture is not to be shared with anyone at all associated with OSHA, but I thought you might get a kick out of it. Lisa, our adorable niece Tara, and Carla went for a little ride while moving hay around.

Turns out Erin, of tough cowgirl fame, is also good at organizing. (Doesn't that figure?) She wants to set up a notebook for all the horses. She's going to help track their quirks, health, age, training, etc. Erin was wanting a little information about Crackerjack who has been Bryce's (Carla's son) horse for the last few years. (Now, they are kindly letting us keep him at Galloping Grace for others to ride.) I called Carla to ask his age. She called me back this morning after checking his paperwork. (She can find that kind of stuff--she's organized!) Turns out that today is also Crackerjack's birthday! Wow. What are the chances?

Crackerjack is exactly twenty years old today! He looks pretty good for such an old fellow. Someone throw that horse a carrot. He LOVES carrots! Carla and Crackerjack, a very happy birthday from all of us at Galloping Grace. We hope you have a fantastic day!
